This 3-day workshop will cover design and composition, too often unaddressed in the workshop setting. The goal of the workshop will be for each participant to discover a strategy to be a composer, not just a reporter. Day one will focus on black and white value studies and the division of space. Exploration of color useage and it’s power to evoke mood and emotion will be covered on the second day. Day three will give painters the opportunity to analyze one of their own unsuccessful paintings and then redesign and repaint it, using the knowledge gained during the first two days.
